Project scope consists of roadway, curb and gutter replacement sidewalk repairs, new storm sewer, new water main and parkway restoration. The project improvements include:

Storm Sewer on Nora Continues

This past week the contractor installed new storm sewer along Nora Avenue south of Colfax Avenue. As the contractor installed the main line storm sewer, they also installed new storm sewer services and water services to individual homes.
Next week the contractor will continue to install storm sewer along Nora Avenue, south of Colfax. The contractor is anticipating to complete the storm sewer along Nora Avenue south of Colfax Avenue. The contractor will then begin installing the storm sewer north of Colfax Avenue along Nora Avenue. The same process of installing water services, storm services, and storm main line is anticipated to continue.
During water service installation and connection to the existing service, water to individual homes will be shut off for a short period of time. The contractor will knock on the door of any home that will not have water prior to turning it off.

Storm Sewer on Nora On-Going

This past week the contractor installed new storm sewer starting on Nora Avenue at Colfax Avenue and working  south to the end of the street. As the contractor installed the main line storm sewer, they are also installing new storm sewer services and water services to individual homes.
Next week the contractor will continue to install storm sewer along Nora Avenue, south of Colfax. The contractor is anticipating to continue to install storm and water services as the storm sewer is being installed.
During water service installation and connection to the existing service, water to individual homes will be shut off for a short period of time. The contractor will knock on the door of any home that will not have water prior to turning it off.

Colfax Detour on Monday, May 20th

On Monday, May 20th, the contractor will be installing a storm manhole and storm sewers through the intersection of Nora Avenue and Colfax Avenue. The contractor will set-up a detour along Colfax Avenue between Harlem Avenue and Nordica Avenue. Residents should plan on using Harrison Street during working hours. Residents that live on Nora Avenue south of Colfax Avenue, will be able to access their homes, but should anticipate some delays while the work is on-going.

This past week the contractor completed installing the water main along Neva Avenue and completed testing of the new water main along Nora Avenue.
The majority of the water main for the project is completed. The items remaining include making connections to the existing water main at the intersections and water service installation. Unfortunately, these operations will include several water main shut downs in the near future. Residents will be notified 24 hours prior to any water main shut-down.
Next week the contractor will begin installing new storm sewer along Nora Avenue. The contractor is also anticipating to install new storm sewer services and water services as the new storm sewer is being installed.

Colfax Avenue Detour on May 10th.

On Monday, May 10th, the contractor will be installing the new water main through the intersection of Neva Avenue and Colfax Avenue. The contractor will set-up a detour along Colfax Avenue between Harlem Avenue and Nordica Avenue. Residents should plan on using Harrison Street during working hours. Residents that live on Neva Avenue south of Colfax Avenue, will be able to access their homes, but should anticipate some delays while the work is on-going.

Neva Avenue Water Shut Down

The Contractor is completing the water main installation on Nora and will be starting the water main installation on Neva at the south end by Kraft tomorrow, Thursday May 8. The contractor will need to do a water main shut down for the following section :

Areas Affected: Neva Avenue from Colfax Avenue to southerly limits of roadway
Day: Thursday, May 9, 2013
Start Time: 9:00 AM
Duration: 6-8 Hours

All affected residents will receive a door hanger on Wednesday, May 9th with further information and details.
