Project scope consists of roadway, curb and gutter replacement sidewalk repairs, new storm sewer, new water main and parkway restoration. The project improvements include:

Storm Sewer along Neva Avenue Continues

This past week the contractor continued to install storm sewer mainline, storm sewer services, and water services along Neva Avenue south of Colfax Avenue. The contractor also perform some preparatory work in advance of installing the internal epoxy liner within the sanitary sewer manholes located in the rear easements.
Next week the contractor will likely complete the installation of storm sewer mainline, storm sewer services, and water services along Neva Avenue south of Colfax Avenue and will begin the same process along Neva Avenue going north of Colfax to Harrison Street.
Currently the contractor will not be working on Thursday, July 4th, but do plan on working on-site Friday, July 5th next week.
During water service installation and connection to the existing service, water to individual homes will be shut off for a short period of time. The contractor will knock on the door of any home that will not have water prior to turning it off.

Underground Utilities Continue on Neva Avenue

This past week the contractor performed some miscellaneous utility work along the project site including replacing existing manhole frames. The contractor also installed the new storm sewer along Neva Avenue through the Colfax Avenue intersection and continued installing storm sewer south of Colfax Ave along Neva Avenue.
Next week the contractor will  continue to install storm sewer mainline, storm sewer services, and water services along Neva Avenue south of Colfax Avenue.
During water service installation and connection to the existing service, water to individual homes will be shut off for a short period of time. The contractor will knock on the door of any home that will not have water prior to turning it off.
The underground utility work along Nora Avenue is now complete. Work along Nora Avenue will not commence again until the work on Neva Avenue is completed. The Village is committed to ensure the stone trenches are properly maintained until the road reconstruction work begins.

Colfax Avenue Detour, June 19-21

We apologize for the late notice. Due to scheduling conflicts, the work planned in the intersection of Neva Avenue and Colfax has been delayed for two days. The storm sewer work scheduled from June 17-19 will now take place on June 19-21.

During working hours, Colfax Avenue will be closed from Noridca Avenue to Harlem Avenue. Colfax will be open at night. Residents should plan on using Harrison Street during the day. Residents south of Colfax will be able to access Neva but there may be slight delays at times. Police and Fire Departments will be notified and will always have access to homes.

Storm Sewer to Neva Avenue to Start

This past week the contractor completed installing the new storm sewer, storm sewer services, and water services along Nora Avenue north of Colfax Avenue. The contractor also made connections between the new water main and the existing water main along Nora Avenue at Harrison Street and Colfax Avenue. The majority of the underground utility work along Nora Avenue is now completed.
On Monday, June 17th, weather dependent, the contractor will need to set up a detour route for Colfax between Harlem and Nordica during the daytime to install storm sewer and manholes in the intersection of Neva and Colfax. The detour will last 2 to 3 days during daytime work hours. Colfax will be open at night. Residents should plan on using Harrison Street during the day. Residents south of Colfax will be able to access Neva but there may be slight delays at times. Police and Fire Departments will be notified and will always have access to homes.

Next week the contractor will move to Neva Avenue and continue the same process as utilized on Nora Avenue. The Contractor will begin by installing the storm manhole at the intersection of Neva Avenue and Colfax Avenue. The contractor will install storm sewer main line, storm sewer services, and water services at the same time along Neva Avenue going south from Colfax Avenue.
During water service installation and connection to the existing service, water to individual homes will be shut off for a short period of time. The contractor will knock on the door of any home that will not have water prior to turning it off.

Storm Sewer Continues on Nora, North of Colfax

This past week the contractor completed installing the new storm sewer, storm sewer services, and water services along Nora Avenue south of Colfax Avenue. The contractor began the same process of installing storm sewer mainline, storm sewer services, and water services north of Colfax Avenue along Nora Avenue.
Next week the contractor will continue to work along Nora Avenue, north of Colfax. The same process of installing water services, storm services, and storm main line is anticipated to continue.
During water service installation and connection to the existing service, water to individual homes will be shut off for a short period of time. The contractor will knock on the door of any home that will not have water prior to turning it off.
