Traffic Calming Islands along Colfax Avenue to be completed this week.

This past week the contractor completed the concrete curb & gutter removal and replacement along Colfax Avenue between Waukegan Road and Harlem Avenue. The contractor also performed the concrete base course in front of the curb replacements and at the Nottingham Avenue intersection where the roadway is to be widened.

Next week, the contractor will begin removing the pavement in the center of Colfax Avenue at Nora Avenue and Nottingham Avenue in preparation for constructing the traffic calming islands.
During the Colfax Avenue Improvements, there will be no parking allowed on the roadway. The posted 8 AM to 10 PM No Parking Restrictions will remain in effect. It is  requested all cars parked along Colfax Avenue be moved prior to 7:00 AM each weekday and 9:00 AM on Saturdays.

The final asphalt pavement surface layer will not be installed along Nora Avenue and Neva Avenue until the Colfax Avenue improvements are completed.
We appreciate all of your patience while the Colfax Avenue improvements are being constructed.
