Colfax Detour on Monday, May 20th

On Monday, May 20th, the contractor will be installing a storm manhole and storm sewers through the intersection of Nora Avenue and Colfax Avenue. The contractor will set-up a detour along Colfax Avenue between Harlem Avenue and Nordica Avenue. Residents should plan on using Harrison Street during working hours. Residents that live on Nora Avenue south of Colfax Avenue, will be able to access their homes, but should anticipate some delays while the work is on-going.

This past week the contractor completed installing the water main along Neva Avenue and completed testing of the new water main along Nora Avenue.
The majority of the water main for the project is completed. The items remaining include making connections to the existing water main at the intersections and water service installation. Unfortunately, these operations will include several water main shut downs in the near future. Residents will be notified 24 hours prior to any water main shut-down.
Next week the contractor will begin installing new storm sewer along Nora Avenue. The contractor is also anticipating to install new storm sewer services and water services as the new storm sewer is being installed.

Thank you for your patience during the construction operations.
